What Makes TEREA Yellow Menthol Japan Different?

Citrus and Menthol Combination

Yellow Menthol combines two dominant characteristics: refreshing menthol and citrus aroma. The official IQOS Japan product page specifically describes the product as refreshing menthol combined with refreshing citrus.

Herbal Aromatic Character

The citrus profile is supported by herbal notes, giving the stick a more aromatic character than a simple menthol flavor.

Japan-Market TEREA

This version is specifically sold as TEREA Yellow Menthol in Japan. Current Japanese duty-free listings continue to list the product as an IQOS ILUMA-dedicated tobacco stick.

IQOS ILUMA Compatibility

TEREA sticks are designed for IQOS ILUMA devices that use induction heating technology.

Yellow Menthol Japan is intended for compatible ILUMA devices, including the ILUMA family and newer ILUMA i models. TEREA should not be inserted into older blade-based IQOS devices.

The reason is the different heating technology. TEREA sticks contain an internal metal component intended to work with the induction-heating system used by ILUMA devices.

The official Japanese product information specifically warns users not to ingest or disassemble TEREA sticks because they contain a sharp metal component.

How to Use IQOS TEREA Yellow Menthol Japan

Step 1: Use a Compatible IQOS ILUMA

Before using the stick, make sure you have an IQOS ILUMA-compatible device. TEREA is not intended for older blade-heating IQOS models.

Step 2: Insert the Stick

Insert the Yellow Menthol stick into the holder according to your particular ILUMA model's instructions. Do not force or twist the stick.

Step 3: Start the Heating Session

Activate the device using the method specified for your ILUMA model. The device will heat the tobacco stick using its induction-heating system.

Step 4: Take Gentle Draws

During the session, take normal, moderate draws. Avoid excessively forceful inhalation.

Step 5: Remove the Used Stick

When the session is finished, remove the used TEREA stick according to the device instructions. Do not attempt to reuse or refill the stick.

Yellow Menthol vs Other TEREA Menthol Flavors

Yellow Menthol vs Purple Menthol

Yellow Menthol focuses on citrus, herbs and refreshing menthol. Purple Menthol combines refreshing menthol with blueberry aroma.

Yellow Menthol vs Tropical Menthol

Tropical Menthol combines refreshing menthol with tropical mango aroma, making it more fruit-focused than Yellow Menthol.

Yellow Menthol vs Black Yellow Menthol

This is an especially important distinction.

Yellow Menthol features refreshing menthol with citrus and herbal aromas.

Black Yellow Menthol is positioned as a stronger-cooling version combining strong menthol with refreshing citrus. The official IQOS Japan lineup lists both products separately.

Therefore, buyers looking for the standard Yellow Menthol should make sure they are not accidentally purchasing Black Yellow Menthol.

Who May Prefer Yellow Menthol?

Yellow Menthol may appeal to adult existing tobacco users who prefer:

• Refreshing menthol
• Citrus aromas
• Herbal notes
• A cool tobacco experience
• Non-capsule TEREA sticks
• Japan-market TEREA products
• Menthol flavors without prominent berry or tropical-fruit notes

It can be particularly interesting for users who want something brighter than a traditional tobacco stick but do not want a strongly fruit-flavored product.

Storage Tips for TEREA Yellow Menthol

Store unopened TEREA packs in a cool, dry place away from excessive heat, humidity and direct sunlight.

The packaging should remain closed until the sticks are needed. Proper storage can help preserve the intended tobacco and aromatic characteristics.

Keep TEREA products away from children and pets.

Do not open, cut, modify or disassemble TEREA sticks. The official Japanese IQOS product information warns that the sticks contain a sharp metal component.

Final Thoughts

IQOS TEREA Yellow Menthol Japan is a distinctive menthol heated tobacco stick that combines refreshing cooling with bright citrus and herbal aromas. Rather than emphasizing sweet fruit flavors, it focuses on a crisp, aromatic combination of menthol, citrus and herbs.

Its Japan-market identity also makes it important to distinguish it from other products carrying the Yellow name. TEREA Yellow Menthol is not the same as TEREA Yellow, and it is also different from the stronger Black Yellow Menthol variant.
